Employment Support
We’re in the opportunity-creation business. Even after graduation, we have seen that there is simply a lack of employment opportunities in Guatemala. We believe with your help, we can change that.
Through our partnership with Education for the Children Foundation, we target students who show great promise in entrepreneurship and a true determination to change their family’s lives. First, students can participate in an entrepreneurship program that teaches them basic business skills as well as more advanced skills in very employable sectors here in Guatemala. From there, students can apply for a loan to start their own business, and their business plans have been heavily vetted and revised. With mentorship by local business leaders and YOU, young people who are ready to take the next step in their lives and just need that final, financial push are given a huge opportunity.
Loan recipients will have a one-year trial period to run their business, receive mentoring, and make needed tweaks for success. After that period, they can sign a contract to begin loan repayments, after which, the business is 100% theirs. We will then use those funds toward the next business.
To date, we have launched 6 businesses employing 27 people from the local communities. We have seen lives changed as jobs are created and communities are rejuvenated. Let’s write our next success story together.

Literacy + Leaders Support
Your donations, whether one-time or recurring, will go directly towards training teachers and creating young, avid readers. Each year, we build a library for a school that desperately needs one. We will then provide 1-1 professional development on how to put these new resources into action by building a high-quality, sustainable literacy program. We believe that literacy is the backbone of education and the path to a brighter future. With your help, we can give that to students + teachers in Guatemala!

Student Support
Through our sponsorship program with the Education for the Children Foundation, we offer an integrated approach to breaking the cycle of poverty through education and empowerment for our students and their families. Alongside the education sponsorship, there are nutrition, counseling, healthcare and social support projects. You will create a true relationship with your student, whether they are just starting kindergarten at The School of Hope or heading off to high school. Through letters and photos (and hopefully visits) your support will help students reach their dreams!
